In this day and age, it is almost impossible to keep up with all of the advancements and technological breakthroughs happening with just about everything that we buy. A lot of us are addicted to consumer electronics and it's now very difficult to distinguish between needs and wants when shopping.
Because of this, I tend to get a little bit pickier in my consumer choices. What I mean by this is that when I'm buying just about anything, I look to see if the item has what I like to call "multi-functionality." Can it do more than one thing that I need, and if not, is there something else out there that I can choose to buy that will? This usually saves me the need to buy something else in the future, which provides me with added convenience and saves me a significant amount of money.
With this in mind, I'd like to detail five gadgets I recently found that really seem to "do it all." Purchasing these items should eliminate the need for you to buy something else because they perform multiple functions and do a great job of it. These items are "multi-functional" in the purest sense of the word and that's what I like to see!
1. PlayStation 3 160GBWith the Playstation 3, what else could you ask for? Its sleek design is very appealing to the eye, and the built-in Wi-Fi and 120 GB of hard drive space don’t hurt either. This is perfect for storing all your games, music, video and even photos. The best part about it is that every PS3 comes with a built-in Blu-ray player, which should save you at least another $100 right off the bat for watching high-definition movies! It also comes with a free PlayStation Network Membership, a dual shock controller, and happens to be one of the best gaming systems out there.
2. Total Gym 1700 ClubWhy would you ever want to waste your money on an expensive gym membership when you could get all of the health benefits from the privacy of your own home? At around $450, the Total Gym 1700 pays for itself in under a year compared to paying monthly membership dues at some of the standard health clubs across the country. It's perfect for strength training and muscle-toning alike, and can easily satisfy all of your workout needs. Additionally, it comes with a pilates bar to improve range of motion and balance, and press-up bars and dip bars for versatility. You can also purchase a weight bar which supports up to 75 pounds of additional weights if needed. It boasts an exercise flip chart to track your workouts and an exercise mat to protect your floor. If that wasn't enough, it folds down for easy storage as well. This product is a great way to get physically fit without exceeding your budget.
4. Toshiba 15.6 Satellite Notebook with Face Recognition
This laptop just about does it all. First, the most important specs. It comes
with a 320 GB hard drive and an Intel Celeron processor 900 which is enough space for just about anybody. It comes pre-loaded with the newly improved Windows 7 Home Premium software. It also has a 15.6” LCD screen, can play and burn CDs and DVDs, has a 4-in-1 memory card slot that supports all of your standard memory cards, and an integrated webcam. This Satellite has you covered with a 56k modem, integrated Ethernet and Intel Wi-Fi 802.11a/g/n network connection. Pro Tip: If you choose to get this laptop or any other one, computers are one of the rare cases where it makes sense to buy an extended warranty.5. JVC iPod/iPhone/CD/MP3 Car Stereo
After taking a closer look at all of these multi-functional products, I literally want to buy them all. Picking up any of these products will give you built-in, guaranteed savings of some sort. Whether you can skip buying a Blu-ray player by picking up the PS3, or make your workshop into a one-stop-shop with the Dealt Combo Kit, all of these items can save you time and money.
Have you used any of these products or know of any comparable products? Feel free to share your comments and/or feedback below.
