Laptopguru from Chicago, IL reviewed the Toshiba Satellite 15.6" 3GB Memory Notebook.

Bottomline: Yes, would recommend to a friend.

Rating:

Review: I have purchased a few brands of laptops and Toshiba has always been the only product I have invested in. Whenever I have had problems with my Toshiba laptops in the past, Toshiba tech support has always been the best ever!!! Ever Toshiba I have owned has been nothing but satisfactory. If any laptop I recommend is definitely Toshiba. It is a great price and Gettington has great payment plans. Far better than these rent-to-own places!!!

Layaway - We've Got That Beat

Tuesday, April 27, 2010 by Tim Corsaro, e-Commerce Manager

How many people are old enough to remember the Layaway Window at your local discount chain?  You would select the items you really needed.  You would take them to the window... and they would take them from you.  And keep them.  You would pay overtime for the stuff you wanted and they would keep it... your stuff and your money.  The wait would vary depending on the layaway plans but it was never short.  Eventually, you got your treasures to have and to hold.  Eventually.

Sometimes you even remembered why you really thought that new shirt was so important.

Let's review.  Let's say the old household budget isn't loving the idea of replacing the old desktop computer downstairs.  You've got your eye on a computer layaway plan, but here's the catch:  you pay them over an eight week period.  They get to live large on your hard earned cash for two months and then they give you the computer.  It's been eight weeks.  Two months.  56 days.  By the time you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor, that computer isn't even state-of-the-art anymore.

Sound good to you?  Yeah, doesn't work for me either.  Let's try this little scenario instead:

Toshiba NotebookYou check out Gettington.com instead.   You've had your eye on a sweet new laptop.    Pay us and wait?  Nope.   Chose our Easy Payment Plan* and pay overtime.  Heck, you'll even be able to use that new laptop to view your electronic statments and make the payments online at Gettington.com.

How is that for immediate gratification and solid personal finance planning?

Looking for a Laptop

Tuesday, April 13, 2010 by Peter Amstutz, Gettington Marketing

I've been on the market for a new computer for the last few months as my 10 year old desktop has continued it's death spiral.  While the price of the a notebook has come down, I am still interested in a laptop payment plan.  Gettington has a nice variety of buy now pay later computers.  The one I have been researching combines mobility and classic style.  It is the HP Compaq Notebook-15.6"-3GB DDR2-Windows 7.  It comes with:

  • OS: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
  • Processor: 2.1GHz AMD Athlon II Dual-Core M320
  • Display: 15.6" (diagonal) BrightView high-definition display (1366 x 768) with 16:9 image ratio
  • Memory: 3072MB DDR2 SDRAM (2 DIMM)
  • Wireless: 802.11b/g/n WLAN
  • Hardrive: 250GB (7200 rpm)
  • Keyboard: 101-key-compatible full-size keyboard with separate numeric keypad
    • Watch movies: using the double-layer DVD±R/RW SuperMulti drive
    • Label discs: use HP Lightscribe to apply silkscreen-quality text, photos, and graphics
    • Share files: with thumb drives, iPAQs, and cameras via the 5-in-1 card reader
    • Connect peripherals: via the USB 2.0 and VGA ports
    • Add accessories4: get power on-the-go with an extra 90W auto/air/AC adapter
    •
While there are no shortage of discount shopping websites to choose from, Gettington has unique online credit services that makes financing computers simple.  In fact, we are one of the only buy now pay later sites.  And our site makes it really simple.  Just add an item to your shopping bag and the payment calculator will give you 3 ways to pay.  Look around and maybe the next time you are reading my blog it will be on your new PC!
