Springing for a new TV

Monday, May 3, 2010 by Peter Amstutz, Gettington Marketing
Back in March I wrote about improvements I was planning for my basement.  I spoke about how nice it would be to watch sports on a big flat panel TV.

Now as the calendar turns to May, my thoughts move to upstairs where the sunlight shines and my home office is in need of a smaller TV.  While I would love to just run out and get one, my wife reminds me that I need to keep track of our Home Budgeting.  She is right.  It reminded me that last holiday season, a lot of retail stores started to offer TV Layaway plans for people on a budget.

This option makes sense for some people who are financing TVs, but for others, a Buy Now Pay Later TV plan is a better choice.  If you want the product today but would like to option to pay over time, Gettington.com is a great place to shop online.

Take a look at your options for this 26" Toshiba LCD HDTV/DVD.  Not only has the price just dropped by $50 on this TV, but if you want the option to pay over time, there are not many other Buy Now Pay Later Online Stores that offer monthly payment options and allow you to have your item before making the first payment!

Choosing the Easy Option, your monthly payment is just $30.25.  Gettington credit options do not allow a customer to make just minimum payments like most credit cards do.  This way, even with the low monthly payment, you will have paid for your new TV much faster than making minimum payments with your Visa or MasterCard.  Gettington offers a new TV Payment Plan that works for more customers.  For me, this beats online layaway shopping every time!

Layway or get it today?

Monday, April 26, 2010 by Peter Amstutz, Gettington Marketing

In these challenging economic times, there are a growing number of stores that have Layaway.  While this a good option for some people, the main problem with a Layaway program is that you don't get to bring home your merchandise until it is fully paid for.  For some items, this is simply not practical.  Take Electronic Layaway for example.

We all know that technology is changing at a break-neck pace.  Whether it's the latest iPod creation from Steve Jobs or the hot new HDTVs, improvements seem to happen weekly.  This is what makes TV Layaway particularly unappealing to most savvy consumers.  Think about picking out a great HDTV to put on layaway, only to see vast improvements in the technology just months later. By the time you've made your final payment the TV you are bringing home is out of date.  I work for a  Buy Now Pay Later Online Shopping store that has an alternative to stores that offer Layaway and will let you get the latest technology much faster than Layaway.

Here is an example: we will ship you an amazing HDTV today and you can select your own TV Payment Plan.  Simply add the Toshiba 32” widescreen LCD HDTV (or any other product from Gettingon.com) to your shopping bag and our payment calculator will present you with three payment options.  If you select the Fast Option, we will ship your TV and you will make just 4 monthly payments of $144.75.  The Easy Option gives you 22 months to pay at just $30.80 per month.  Both of these Buy Now Pay Later TV options cost much less than making the minimum payment on a standard credit card with a 19.9% APR.  Gettington.com store credit is offered by WebBank*.

So, while Layaway might be a great option for in some cases, I really think that the payment options offered at Gettington.com make more sense when buying electronics.  Be sure to check out all of our Buy Now Pay Later Deals in every department on every product at Gettington.com.

Buying your dream HDTV online

Friday, February 19, 2010 by Paula Drum, General Manager
We all love those new LCD HDTVs.  My husband is definitely in the camp of bigger is better.   At Gettington.com we want to make it easy to buy a TV on credit and still be on target with your personal budgeting strategies.

Order Now Pay Later
With Gettington's three ways to pay, you can buy your new HDTV on Gettington credit offered by WebBank* or select the Pay Now and use your own credit or debit card.  The Gettington shopping bag with built-in payment calculator shows you your options so you can make the best choice for your budget.

Let's say that you love the features of the LG 42" 1080p LCD TV (Item number NC423.)  It currently retails for $799.95.

To see your Gettington payment options, you simply add the computer to your shopping bag.  You can easily understand your payment options.  Pay Now for $799.95 on your own credit or debit card plus shipping and tax.  You can see your full total including shipping and tax when you add your shipping state in the shopping bag.

Or finance your TV using a Gettington.com online payment plan*.  Fast Option would be 4 monthly payment of $206.79 (plus shipping and tax.)  Easy option allows you to pay over time with 22 monthly payments of $44.00 (plus shipping and tax.)

The Gettington payment calculator even shows all the totals and compares it to a Visa/MC at 19.9% apr.  If you were to make only the minumum payments you could be making 135 payments (or over 11 years) and paying a total of $1,730 dollars with interest.  Compare that to the Gettington Easy Option of 22 payments and a total price of $959.38 with interest.  Gettington's payment options are responsible options because they are structured to pay off your purchase faster which means less money paid in interest fees.  Knowing your total cost with interest up front is a smart when you buy TV on credit.

And for many financing their new HDTV is better than buying from  online layaway stores because you don't have to wait until your TV is paid off to start watching your favorite shows.

Gettington has a variety of TVs from HDTV to TV/DVD combox.  If you are looking for a new TV, check out Gettington's 3 ways to pay, especially if you need to buy on credit.
